Hetch Hetchy Reservoir in Yosemite National Park
This reservoir was boilt in 1923 to provide water for the San Francisco area. John Muir fought against the building of the dam. He said "Dam Hetch Hetchy! As well dam for water-tanks the people's cathedrals and churches, for no holier temple has ever been consecrated by the heart of man."
